Cylinder Price Hike: Domestic LPG consumers have got another shock of inflation in the beginning of June. According to the new notification issued by the government, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 29. The new rates have become effective from today i.e. June 7. After this, the price of domestic cylinder in the capital Delhi has increased from Rs 913 to Rs 942. Earlier in March 2026 also, cylinder prices were increased by Rs 60.
After the implementation of new prices, domestic gas cylinders have become expensive in the main metros of the country. Now 14.2 kg domestic cylinder will be available in Kolkata for Rs 968, whereas earlier its price was Rs 939. Its price in Mumbai has increased from Rs 912.50 to Rs 941.50. Whereas in Chennai, consumers will now have to pay Rs 957.50, whereas earlier it was available for Rs 928.50.
Impact of increasing financial pressure on oil companies
According to the information, public sector oil marketing companies were continuously suffering losses on the sale of subsidized domestic LPG cylinders. It is estimated that the companies were incurring a loss of around Rs 703 on each cylinder. To reduce this financial pressure and to maintain smooth domestic gas supply, prices have been revised.
Commercial cylinders have also become expensive earlier
Before the increase in the prices of domestic cylinders, the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders were also increased on June 1. Its price in Delhi has increased by Rs 42 to Rs 3113.50. Whereas in Kolkata, after an increase of Rs 53.50, its new price has reached Rs 3255.50. Apart from this, an increase of Rs 11 was also recorded in the price of 5 kg FTL cylinder used by small businesses and consumers.
New prices of domestic cylinders in main cities
From June 7, domestic cylinder will be available in Noida for Rs 939.50. Apart from this, its price has been fixed at Rs 915.50 in Bengaluru, Rs 968 in Bhubaneswar, Rs 951.50 in Chandigarh, Rs 994 in Hyderabad, Rs 945.50 in Jaipur, Rs 979.50 in Lucknow and Rs 1031.50 in Patna.
