CBI raids six premises in IDFC First Bank and AU Finance Chhetarpindi case

New Delhi, 07 June 2026: In connection with the investigation of IDFC First Bank and AU Finance Chhetarpindi case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had conducted raids at six premises in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Delhi-NCR region. The case pertains to embezzlement and misutilization of government funds amounting to ₹661 crore by eight departments of the Government of Haryana and two departments: Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Chandigarh Renewable Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST).

The CBIA had said in a statement that the raids were conducted at the residential premises of senior government employees of Haryana cadre and a private consultancy firm and its director in connection with irregularities and proceeds of crime. During the investigation, evidence has emerged which shows that government employees had colluded with bank officials and helped in opening accounts, transferring funds and subsequent embezzlement. CBI has filed the first charge sheet in this case detailing the role of government employees of two departments.
