This new model will directly challenge the dominance of Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.

Big change on demand of highway riders

The company launched the Ntorq 150 in the market last year, which was introduced as a sporty option above the 125cc model with an air-cooled engine. However, performance enthusiasts and highway riders were finding some shortcomings in it. There was a demand from automobile experts and customers that for long journeys, the scooter must have a liquid-cooled engine and wind protection (windscreen) to protect it from strong winds. Also, the need for 14-inch or larger tires was felt for better stability. TVS is now working on a proper maxi-scooter design to overcome these shortcomings.

Engine will be bigger in capacity and size

According to reports, this upcoming new scooter will be much bigger than the existing models not only in terms of engine capacity but also in its overall dimensions (size). A 160cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine can be seen in it, which will keep the engine cool even at high-speed and will give excellent performance over long distances. Apart from this, it is likely to be provided with large 14-inch alloy wheels for better grip on rough roads and highways.

Industry sources believe that the company may unveil it around the festive season. Its price will be kept premium over the existing Ntorq 150.
