Milan, Juventus and Chelsea made to wait for Maignan transfer decision
Why Maignan is in no rush to make decision on Milan future
Maignan is among the star players that could leave Milan following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026-27 Champions League.
The Rossoneri have already had a mass clear-out at boardroom level, getting rid of sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Goeffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani, as well as head coach Massimiliano Allegri the day after the 2025-26 season came to an end.
A number of big-name Milan players could potentially leave during the summer transfer as well: Rafael Leao has made it clear that he wishes to leave, Luka Modric is far from guaranteed to stay, while reports claim that Massimiliano Allegri wants to bring Adrien Rabiot with him to Napoli.
Additionally, there have been reports that goalkeeper Maignan could leave the club this summer. There has been longstanding interest in the Frenchman from Premier League side Chelsea, while recent reports claim that Juventus, who are in search of a goalkeeper, could make a move if an opportunity were to arise.
However, according to reports from The Gazzetta dello Sport, Maignan is in no rush to make a final decision about his next career steps.
That is largely due to the fact that he is currently in camp with the France national team, who are among the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup in North America. Also, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Maignan is unlikely to make a decision before the appointment of a new head coach in Milan either.
