4 big good news for farmers in UP, government issued new instructions

Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has started preparations to implement many important programs and schemes in the month of June to increase the income of farmers and make farming more profitable. In view of the changing weather, possibility of less rainfall and new challenges in farming, the government has prepared a detailed action plan for agricultural activities. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, after holding a meeting with departmental officials, has given instructions to rapidly deliver the schemes to the farmers.

1. Agricultural fair and health fair will be held from 14 to 16 June.

Agricultural fair and health fair will be organized in all the districts of the state between 14th and 16th June. In these fairs, farmers will be given information about modern farming techniques, government schemes and better production methods. Along with this, health related facilities will also be provided to the farmers, so that they can get many benefits at one place.

2. Natural farming will get a boost

A special workshop on natural farming will be organized from 17 to 18 June. The objective of this program is to motivate farmers towards chemical-free farming. Experts will tell farmers the methods of organic farming, improvement of soil quality and ways to produce more at lower costs. The government believes that this will make farming sustainable and profitable.

3. Emphasis on pulses and oilseeds

The government is promoting the cultivation of pulses and oilseed crops like moong, urad, soybean and sesame this year. Farmers can get better income from these crops growing in less water. The focus of the Agriculture Department is to make farmers self-reliant by bringing changes in the pattern of farming.

4. Benefits of co-cropping

The government has decided to promote co-cropping farming in sugarcane based areas. Under this, farmers will be able to grow crops like moong, urad, groundnut, mustard and okra along with sugarcane. This will create new sources of income for farmers and better utilization of land.

Government advice considering the weather

Keeping in mind the possible El Nino and low rainfall conditions, the government has advised farmers to plant trees on the ridges of their fields and pay attention to water conservation. This will not only maintain environmental balance but farmers can also get additional benefits.
