The last date for nomination for Bihar Legislative Council elections (MLC) is June 8, but even before the last day the political picture is not completely clear. There is suspense on one seat of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and one candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The names of Bihar government minister Deepak Prakash and possible candidate of RJD are being discussed the most in political circles.
So far, NDA has announced its candidates on 9 out of 10 seats. BJP and JDU have fielded four candidates each and LJP (Ram Vilas) has fielded one candidate. However, the equations on one seat are not completely clear yet, due to which discussions have intensified on the political future of Deepak Prakash.

On the other hand, on the basis of numbers, one seat is considered almost certain for the opposition party RJD, but the party leadership has not yet been able to finalize the name of the candidate. The decision is entirely in the hands of Leader of Opposition and party’s working president Tejashwi Yadav.
Social equations or family pressure?
According to sources, Tejashwi Yadav is in favor of sending Shivchandra Ram, who comes from a deprived society, to the Legislative Council to create social equations. It is believed that in view of the upcoming elections, RJD is working on a strategy to strengthen its hold in the Scheduled Caste vote bank.
On the other hand, a different opinion is also emerging within the party. It is discussed that former Chief Minister Rabri Devi is in favor of sending Tej Pratap Yadav to the Legislative Council. Tej Pratap Yadav’s arrival at Rabri residence on Saturday evening also remained a topic of political discussions. However, he called it a meeting to know the health of Rabri Devi.

Is Tej Pratap’s comeback possible?
A section of RJD leaders is clearly saying that Tej Pratap Yadav is not a part of the party at present and in such a situation only an active and dedicated worker should get the party ticket. This is the reason why Shivchandra Ram’s name is being considered among the strongest contenders.
RJD sources say that the official announcement of the name of the candidate will be made only after getting the final consent of the party supremo. It is expected that the name will be announced late Sunday night or Monday morning.
Everyone’s eyes are on the final decision
Now on the last day of nomination, the biggest question is whether NDA will be able to find a way to send Deepak Prakash to the Legislative Council? And will Tejashwi Yadav give priority to social equations or take a shocking decision amid family pressure?
