Earthquake Hits Bhutan North Bengal: After a powerful earthquake in Bhutan on Sunday evening, the earth trembled in many areas of North Bengal. Due to the sudden tremors, people came out of their houses and buildings. At some places people felt fans, windows and furniture shaking, which created an atmosphere of panic for some time.

According to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 5.6 on the Richter scale. Its center was in Bhutan and its depth is said to be about 10 kilometers. Apart from Bhutan, earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of North Bengal.
