The Municipal Commissioner had presented a proposal in this regard in Varanasi Municipal Corporation. Which was approved in the House meeting. According to the news of News18, the Municipal Corporation will now build meat and fish markets outside Varanasi. In the first phase, meat and fish shops will be built in Ganeshpur, Ramnagar, Avaleshpur, Sujabad and Shivpur. Where modern facilities will be provided.

According to the resolution passed in the Varanasi Municipal Corporation House meeting, the presence of meat and fish shops around the city will improve cleanliness in the city, especially in the densely populated areas. Apart from this, due to absence of non-veg shops within the city, traffic problems will also be reduced. Meat and fish sellers will also be able to work systematically if they get shops with modern facilities. Varanasi is a holy city of Hindus. However, people of Bengali and Muslim communities also live here in large numbers. People of both these communities eat meat and fish. They will have to face some problems if meat and fish shops move out of the city.
