US: President Trump’s AI policy advisor Shriram Krishnan announced his resignation.
Washington. Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy advisor in the White House, Shriram Krishnan will resign. He announced this on Saturday. Krishnan said he would step down from his post at the end of June. Krishnan helped America in making a policy for this new and important technology. Krishnan said that this journey has been a special experience of his life for him. He did not give any reason for leaving the post.
Sriram Krishnan has deep connections to India, although he is now an American citizen. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He studied engineering from SRM University, Chennai and moved to America in 2007. Later he worked in big tech companies like Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter (X) and Snap. He became an American citizen in 2016. His wife Aarti Ramamurthy is also of Indian origin.
Krishnan wrote on social media platform X, ‘I will leave my role in the White House at the end of this month. After a break, I’ll be working to help address the biggest AI challenges facing the United States (more on that later). It is difficult to convey how great a privilege it has been to serve the American people and how grateful I am to have the opportunity to do so.
Krishnan further wrote, ‘Most importantly, it has been an honor to work under the leadership of President Donald Trump. Without their leadership, we would not have been ahead in the AI race. Over the past 18 months, I have had the opportunity to observe from close quarters this important turning point in AI facing the United States and our allies. Whether it’s energy, data centers, or creating a clear path for Americans to experience the benefits of AI, there are many tough issues we must tackle together. I plan to build institutions that help America and its allies address those challenges.
Krishnan has been involved in the Trump administration’s efforts to create a national framework to regulate developments in AI. In fact, security concerns have increased in Washington regarding the new and powerful system.
