Britain News: Romanian youth raped two girls,
Britain News: A 34-year-old man stopped at Dover Port while returning to Britain has been accused of raping two teenage girls on the beach. Madeline Ilinca, 34, from Romania, was stopped at Dover Port while re-entering Britain. The accused was suspected of attacking the girls on Great Yarmouth Beach on the morning of May 16, 2026. Norfolk Police said Ilinka, of Stafford Road, Great Yarmouth, has been charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Center for questioning in this case and has been kept in custody since then.
Local police said that another man aged 30-40 was arrested on suspicion of rape in connection with the same incident in Northamptonshire on 17 May. He is on bail till August 10 while the investigation continues. Earlier in a statement, police had told the media that officers were searching for a second suspect, who was believed to be out of the country. He was described as a white man aged 30 or 40, with short and black hair and black hair on his face.
Meanwhile, on May 16, Norfolk Police was called to South Beach Parade, Great Yarmouth after receiving reports of rape of two girls. Last month, at 12.37am on Saturday, police received a report that two girls had been raped behind the Premier Inn on the sand dunes near South Beach Parade in Great Yarmouth. After the incident, they cordoned off a 100-yard wide area of sand dunes between the beach and the rear of the 81-room budget hotel.
Taxi driver expressed surprise
This place is near the Pleasure Beach amusement park and overlooks the Wellington Pier. There are tents of homeless people at a short distance from where the girls were attacked. This is actually a quiet area as it is away from the city centre. Therefore, people stay here in tents to avoid the problem of their belongings being stolen.
Taxi driver Jamie Zamich, 33, said he was on his way to work around 4.10am on Saturday when he saw four-five police cars. Some cars were parked in the car parking of the Premier Inn and some were on the side road leading to the beach. I wondered what might have happened, but later I felt very sad to hear about the girls being raped. This city is no longer safe.
Officers deployed to help both the girls
At the same time, in this whole matter, District Commander of Great Yarmouth, Chief Inspector Nick Paling said that we understand how shocking and tragic these incidents are for the victims, their families and the entire community. Special officers have been deployed to help both the girls during this investigation. Police presence will be increased in the area and officers will patrol to reassure people. Police have appealed that if you have any concerns or information, please contact them.
