Team India Largest Test Win: India won the one-off Test match against Afghanistan by a huge margin of innings and 300 runs held at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium. This is Team India’s biggest win by innings in Tests.
After winning the toss, the Indian team came to bat first and declared its first innings with a score of 564/8 on the basis of century innings of KL Rahul (100) and captain Shubman Gill (126).

In response, Afghanistan’s first innings was reduced to just 152 runs. In this innings, debutant Manav Suthar took 6 wickets for just 33 runs. India forced the visiting team to follow on, in response to which the Afghan team collapsed in just 35.5 overs in the second innings.
Earlier, in the year 2018, Team India had won against West Indies by an innings and 272 runs in Rajkot Test. India won the match against Afghanistan by an innings and 262 runs in the Bengaluru Test in 2018. In the year 2007, Team India won the match against Bangladesh by a margin of innings and 239 runs. In 2017, India had defeated Sri Lanka in Nagpur with exactly the same margin.
In whose name was the record registered?
West Indies had achieved a bigger win by an innings margin on Indian soil. The match played at Eden Gardens in 1958 was won by the host team by an innings and 336 runs. Apart from this, Pakistan leads the way in terms of the biggest win by an Asian team, having defeated New Zealand by an innings and 324 runs in the year 2002.
This is also the biggest defeat of the Afghan team in Test history. Earlier in the year 2018, it had to face defeat at the hands of India by an innings and 262 runs. In the year 2025, this team was defeated by Zimbabwe by an innings and 73 runs.
