The Batman 2 Delays Were the Best Thing to Happen to Robert Pattinson’s Career
The Batman 2 has faced a number of delays leading up to its release. While they weren’t fun for fans, the delays have helped Robert Pattinson’s career in a major way.
Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in the movie, with other cast members from the original film also returning, including Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, are likely to return for the sequel. Newcomers to the movie include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.
The Batman 2 will be released in the United States on October 1, 2027. However, the movie was originally slated to come out much earlier. Instead, several delays have forced the movie to shift its release date. While that is tough for fans, it actually helped Pattinson out in some big ways.
The Batman 2 delays have helped Robert Pattinson land some of his biggest roles ever
Although The Batman 2 delays have been rough for fans of the first movie wanting more, they have helped Pattinson as an actor. Speaking to GQ in a recent profile, the star joked that, due to the delays of the movie, he ended up just taking a number of roles he otherwise might not have.
“I’m like, ‘Well, I’ll do another movie in between,’ ” Pattinson said of the delays. “And then I ended up doing f-cking a lot of movies.” These movies include titles like The Odyssey, the upcoming Dune: Part Three, his upcoming A24 movie Primetime, where he’ll star as Chris Hansen, and more.
While Pattinson likely would be in command for a number of high-profile movies regardless, the delays have actually let him take on movies he might not have otherwise. Should The Batman 2 have come out when it was initially supposed to, Pattinson likely would’ve been too busy to join at least one or two of the movies he’s been in recently. Now, he gets to enjoy a bit of a new peak in his career, while reaping the benefits in the future.
Of course, Pattinson would still be in command regardless of the delays, but now sees his star rise even higher as a result. Now, he’ll get to star in a number of huge films and continue his run as Batman, which now has the added benefit of potentially getting a number of new fans into the franchise thanks to all the movies Pattinson has starred in over the past few years.
