Who should not drink coconut water?

Coconut Water: Whenever it comes to healthy drinks, the first thought that comes to mind is coconut water. Therefore, this drink, rich in electrolytes and hydration, has become a symbol of today’s healthy lifestyle. But do you know that coconut water can also be harmful for some people. Dr. Salim Zaidi has shared the video on his YouTube page and told which people should not drink coconut water, so let us know which people should not consume it.

People with weak digestive capacity: You must have heard that drinking coconut water helps in cleansing the stomach, but if your digestive system is weak then do not consume this water. Because this may cause diarrhea problem. Actually, the laxative properties present in it can sometimes make your stomach more active, due to which you may have the problem of diarrhea.

Kidney problems: If you are a kidney patient or your kidneys are not functioning properly, then you should not consume too much coconut water. It contains very high amount of potassium and due to weak kidneys, the body is not able to expel potassium, due to which the risk of ‘hyperkalemia’ increases.

Very low blood pressure: The effect of coconut water is not the same on all people. If you are already taking blood pressure medicines or your blood pressure often remains low then you should not consume coconut water. In fact, potassium-rich coconut water can lower your BP even further.

Electrolyte imbalance: Drinking more coconut water increases the amount of potassium in the body. Because of this, drinking coconut water in excessive amounts can upset the balance of sodium and potassium in the body, which can cause problems like muscle weakness or irregular heartbeat.
