Washington: Amidst the ongoing tension between America and Iran, US President Donald Trump has taken a big U-turn and announced to stop planning new military attacks on Iran for the time being. The special thing is that he took this decision just hours after warning of a major military operation and bombing against Iran. Trump said in a post on social media that he decided to halt new military strikes because negotiations with Iran have now reached the level of its top leadership and have been approved.
‘Significant progress was made in finding a solution’
Trump claimed that significant progress has been made between the US, Israel and regional allies in pursuing a ceasefire and finding a solution. However, he did not give any detailed information in this regard. Trump said that there has been agreement in principle and at the detailed level on many important issues related to the agreement. Although in the last few weeks he has claimed several times that an agreement is close, but till now no concrete result has emerged.

Iran attacked many American targets
Meanwhile, the ceasefire between America and Iran on April 8 has been broken and both the countries are continuously attacking each other’s targets. On Thursday, Iran targeted several American military bases. Iran claims that it has launched powerful attacks on 5 US military bases located in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain. According to Iranian officials, two American planes were destroyed in these attacks, while the hangar of an American airbase in Jordan was also destroyed.
3 American F-16 fighter planes damaged
American media reports claimed that three American F-16 fighter planes parked in the hangar were also damaged or destroyed during the attack. Iran has also claimed to target the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet Headquarters located in Bahrain. Apart from this, two US military bases in Kuwait are also said to have been damaged. The Iranian army has also claimed to have carried out a drone attack on the US Embassy located in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.
Trump’s attitude completely changed within a few hours
Let us tell you that just a few hours ago, Trump had said that he will not give any more time to Iran and the American Army has been ordered to start bombing again. He also indicated that US forces could capture Iran’s strategically important Kharg Island. Trump said that on Pakistan’s mediation and insistence, he had given Iran a chance for an agreement but due to the ‘stubborn’ Iranian leadership, the agreement could not move forward.
