IND vs AFG: Gill will create history against Afghanistan! Will break the records of giants like Root-Richards

Delhi: The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Afghanistan will be held on Saturday. This match will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Captain Shubman Gill will have a chance to create history in this match. If Gill scores 47 runs, he will break the record of legends like Joe Root-Vivian Richards.

Gill has so far scored 2953 runs in 61 innings in ODIs. If Gill scores only 47 runs in the first match against Afghanistan, then he will become the second player to score the fastest 3000 runs in ODI, leaving behind many great players including Joe Root-Vivian Richards. Whereas the record of scoring the fastest 3000 runs is in the name of former South African cricketer Hashim Amla. Amla had achieved this feat in only 59 matches.

Team India will field without Virat and Hardik

In this series, both Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya were included in the 15-member squad. But, Kohli was out of the series due to hamstring injury. Yashasvi Jaiswal was included in the team in place of Kohli. At the same time, Hardik had recently passed the fitness test. He was ready to play in the series. But, he got injured once again. The Indian team has not announced his replacement yet.
