IRCTC’s new website will be launched by July 15, will get rid of the problem of captcha and slow speed.
digital desk- There is a very relieving news for crores of passengers traveling by Indian Railways. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is going to launch its new and upgraded website soon. Union Railway, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that the new website of IRCTC will be made live by July 15. The Union Minister made this important announcement during an interaction program with students at Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. In fact, during the conversation, a student directly appealed to the Railway Minister and said that Sir, please solve the problem of captcha on IRCTC. Seeing this practical problem of the students, the Railway Minister immediately called a senior official of the department from the stage and asked whether a new website could be prepared within 30 days. After getting the green signal from the officer, he set the deadline of July 15, after which the entire hall echoed with thunderous applause.
Shortcomings of the old website and reasons for bringing a new site
At present, lakhs of people book tickets every day on the IRCTC website, but during peak hours, users have to face a lot of problems. Due to recurring difficult captcha codes while booking tickets, a lot of time of passengers was wasted and seats were lost at the time of Tatkal tickets. The website would often become extremely slow or crash due to heavy traffic during Tatkal booking hours at 10 and 11 am. Apart from this, people were troubled by sudden session expiry after seat selection, payment failure, OTP not coming and unwanted logout. Before common passengers, illegal agents and automated bots used to bypass the website and book tickets, to deal with this the government had also deactivated 2.5 crore fake user IDs last year. To remove all these serious problems is the main reason for bringing this new website.
Usefulness of the new website and benefits to passengers
The new website, which will be launched on July 15, is being equipped with modern technologies, which will completely change the ticket booking experience of passengers. The biggest utility of this website will be that its server architecture will be so strong that even with crores of traffic, the site will run smoothly and will not crash. Users will be freed from complex captcha codes, making Tatkal ticket booking extremely fast and easy. The new payment gateway integration will minimize the transaction failure rate and stringent security measures will be in place to prevent bots and fake agents from breaking into it.
