IND vs AFG : India vs Afghanistan first ODI match will be played on 13th June i.e. Sunday. This match will be played between the two teams at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. Before this match, Indian cricket team captain Shubman Gill and team head coach Gautam Gambhir will have the responsibility of choosing the playing-11. Will Rohit Sharma get a place in Team India’s playing 11 or will he be dropped from the 11? This remains a big question. Every cricket fan is excited to know about this question. There will be trouble regarding Rohit Sharma

Indian cricket team captain Shubhman Gill will take the field to start the innings as a left-handed batsman. It will be very interesting to know who will be his second opening partner. At present, Gill and Gambhir have three more opening options in the Indian cricket team, which include right-handed Rohit Sharma and left-handed Ishan Kishan and Yasvi Jaiswal.

Ishan Kishan has returned to the Indian cricket team for the Afghanistan series. He is going to make his ODI comeback from this series after 2023. Whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal was not given a place in the team for this series. But later he was included in the team as a replacement after Virat Kohli got injured.

Whereas Rohit Sharma was given a place in the squad in the beginning itself. But there is doubt over Rohit Sharma’s play due to the injury he suffered during the Indian Premier League 2026. Rohit Sharma was not completely fit while playing for Mumbai Indians but now he has passed the fitness test and has joined Team India in Dharamshala, but is he so fit that he will be given a chance in the playing-11.

Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir would like to choose right and left handed opening batsmen to open the innings. Both Rohit and Gill are right-handed, so Ishaan and Yashasvi’s chances may be cut short. If India starts the innings with one right-handed and the other left-handed batsman, then one of Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal may get a chance to open the innings along with Gill. In such a situation, Rohit Sharma’s card will be cut.

Rohit Sharma’s age and fitness is a matter of concern before the 2027 ODI World Cup. Before that, the Indian cricket team and coach Gambhir would like the team to take the field with absolutely fit and young players. In such a situation, young and new players will also be able to prepare and before the 2027 ODI World Cup, Team India’s pass will also include a pool of young and fit players.

These players may get a chance

Apart from opening, Team India can give a chance to Ishan Kishan at number 3. Whereas Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be seen in the middle order. Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy can play as all-rounders at number 6 and 7. Kuldeep Yadav could be the team’s only premier spinner who will get support from Sundar. Team India can field with three fast bowlers, in which the names of Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav can be included.
