On June 8, the first attack took place on the Palau-flagged oil tanker ‘Marivex’. There were 24 Indian sailors on this ship. Although the ship was destroyed after the attack, everyone was rescued safely. On June 10, another oil tanker, ‘Setebelo’ of Palau, was attacked. Three sailors out of 24 Indians died in this attack. Then again on June 11, a third action was taken against the Guinea-Bissau-flagged oil tanker ‘Jalveer’. There were 20 Indian sailors on this ship.
