Gasoline prices fall 1.21% – VnExpress International
E10 RON95 gasoline prices fell 1.21% from a week ago to VND22,060 (US$0.84) per liter.
Biofuel E5 RON92 dropped 2.07% to VND21,330. Diesel declined 3.69% to VND25,870.
Globally the fuel market in recent days continued to be affected by the conflicts between the U.S. and Iran, and between Russia and Ukraine, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance said.
These factors pushed global gasoline and oil prices lower compared with seven days earlier. RON 92 fell 0.3% to $116.4 per barrel, while diesel dropped 1.6% to $139.6 per barrel. Mazut also declined 4% to $614.5 per ton.
From June 1, RON95 mineral gasoline in Vietnam has been blended with 10% ethanol to become E10 gasoline. Meanwhile, E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be maintained until the end of 2030.
Dao Duy Anh, deputy director of the Agency for Innovation, Green Transformation and Industry Promotion under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said at a recent forum that most vehicles manufactured after 2000 are compatible with E10 gasoline.
“We have not recorded any negative feedback from consumers,” he said, adding that reports on social media about vehicles encountering problems after refueling with E10 gasoline “need to be verified for specific causes, rather than hastily blaming fuel quality.”
