26-year-old young fast bowler Gurnoor Brar made his international debut in the first ODI match against Afghanistan. This debut was no less than a dream for him. In the first over of his very first match, he gave the first blow by dismissing Afghanistan’s opener Ibrahim Zadran. During Afghanistan’s innings, Gurnoor came to bowl the second over for India. Brar bowled short the fifth ball of this over. On which Ibrahim, while trying to play a big shot, handed his catch to Shubman Gill.

Who is Gurnoor Brar?
Gurnoor Brar, born on 25 May 2000 in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, is an emerging player of Indian cricket, who is primarily a right-arm fast bowler. Apart from this, he can also bat in the lower order. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall, Gurnoor is known for his tall physique and his reverse swing with extra bounce. He represents the Punjab team at the domestic level and is one of the best bowlers in Ranji Trophy.
Played only one match in IPL
Young fast bowler Gurnoor Brar was included in their team by Punjab Kings in IPL 2023 for Rs 20 lakh as a replacement for Raj Bawa. That season he made his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants. He has played only one match in IPL so far. After this, Gujarat Titans bought him for Rs 1 crore 30 lakh in the 2025 mega auction.
