Lucknow: The politics of Uttar Pradesh is once again in the headlines for its rhetoric. Om Prakash Rajbhar, while giving a sharp statement before the upcoming visit of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to Uttar Pradesh, has advised a senior leader of his party to use language as per his capacity. This controversy has come to the fore at a time when political parties in the state are active in the upcoming election strategies.
Political tension increased before Owaisi’s visit
Political rhetoric has intensified before the visit of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to UP. Om Prakash Rajbhar took a strong stand while replying to a statement by AIMIM state president Shaukat Ali on social media platform X. Rajbhar said in his post that political leaders should give statements keeping in mind the respect of history and society.
The entire controversy started with the comment in which AIMIM Uttar Pradesh State President Shaukat Ali had given a controversial statement regarding Raja Suheldev. Shaukat Ali had reportedly said that he did not consider Raja Suheldev as a historical ruler and had raised questions about his existence. After this statement the political atmosphere became heated.
Rajbhar’s sharp reaction
Responding to this statement, Om Prakash Rajbhar addressed Owaisi and said that he should explain to his colleagues to use “decent language” and respect historical facts. Rajbhar also said in his message that the land of Uttar Pradesh is known for its historical heroes and cultural heritage, and caution should be exercised while making statements on such issues.
In his statement, Rajbhar mentioned the historical contribution of Raja Suheldev, describing him as “a symbol of national self-respect”. He said that this land belongs to those heroes who fought against foreign invaders and made their mark in history. This entire controversy has again brought issues like identity, history and social representation to the center stage in the politics of the state.
