‘Hormuz embargo violation not tolerated’, Rubio hits back at Jaishankar for attack on ‘Indian’ ship in Oman

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio fired back at Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar over the attack on the ship of Indian sailors off the coast of Oman. He informed that the violation of the blockade imposed by America on the Strait of Hormuz will not be tolerated in any way. All ships must obey Washington’s orders.

Attack on merchant ship off Oman coast and death of 3 Indian sailors has caused an uproar. Protests are going on everywhere. New Delhi is involved in a new ‘conflict’ with America. Amidst this tension, Jaishankar spoke to Rubio on the phone. He strongly condemned the incident. The foreign minister said that such attacks are not acceptable. He also made a post on his X handle. Within hours, a statement was issued by the US State Department.

The statement said, ‘US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to the Indian Foreign Minister on Saturday. The two heads of state discussed the recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz. Rubio has made it clear that the US forces have imposed a blockade to maintain peace and security in that waterway. All commercial vessels passing through must comply with US directives. He made it clear, violation of blockade in that system will not be tolerated in any way.

It should be noted that Indians are also victims of war in the Middle East. On Wednesday, the US military attacked a Palau-flagged merchant ship called ‘MT Settebello’ in the Gulf of Oman. Allegedly, one missile after another hit the commercial aircraft. A fire broke out immediately. The ship had a total of 28 sailors. Among them 24 Indians. Immediately after the attack, an emergency message was sent from the ship. 21 Indians were rescued. The remaining three Indians died.
