New Delhi: The massive fire that took place on the night of June 12 in Delhi’s Tughlakabad Extension was initially considered an accident, but the revelations revealed in the police investigation have completely changed the matter. Now the investigating agencies claim that the fire was not accidental, but was set as part of a well-planned conspiracy. In this tragic incident, three people lost their lives, while many others were injured.

CCTV footage revealed the secret

After the incident, the police had initially started investigation considering it to be a case of ordinary arson, but the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area changed the direction of the investigation. In the footage, a woman was seen walking towards the building shortly before the fire. After this, the police intensified the investigation at technical and local level.

Feeling of revenge became the reason

Investigation revealed that the entire conspiracy was related to an old dispute. According to the police, there was a dispute over money between a young man named Deepak and his cousin Niranjan. Due to this rivalry, a plan was made to target Deepak’s scooter.

Police claim that a 17-year-old girl was instigated to set fire, she was provided petrol and matchsticks and asked to set the scooter on fire. However, the fire was not limited to the scooter and quickly spread throughout the building.

Four accused arrested

Police have so far detained four people in this case. These include alleged mastermind Niranjan, his brother Rajkumar, a woman named Sarita and a minor girl. Many serious sections have been imposed on the accused including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, attempt to murder and arson.

Police officials say that the matter is being investigated in depth and it is being ascertained whether any other person was also involved in this conspiracy or not. This incident, which started as a personal dispute, led to the death of three people and caused deep pain to many families.
