There is talk of a big agreement between America and Iran regarding nuclear weapons. US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran will no longer make nuclear weapons, but the Iranian government has a different opinion on this matter. This news has attracted the attention of the whole world because tension between the two countries has been going on for a long time.
Trump’s claim and Iran’s response
US President Donald Trump announced on June 14, 2026 that there was going to be a peace deal with Iran. He said that now Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons by any means. Trump called it a wall against nuclear weapons and claimed that after this agreement the Strait of Hormuz would be immediately reopened.
On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagaei denied that the agreement would be signed only on June 14. He said that the date has not been decided yet and the delay is due to hesitation on the American side. Iran’s Fars News Agency also reported that the legal and technical aspects of the deal are still under investigation.
Main points of agreement
According to reports, some main points have been included in this draft memorandum:
- To end the ongoing war between the two countries immediately and forever.
- Returning Iran’s frozen assets worth $24 billion.
- Giving 60 days time for talks on nuclear issues.
- Iran said it would reiterate its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) but would not make any changes to its peaceful nuclear plan.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also said on June 13 that the agreement was very close to being signed and could soon be signed electronically. At the same time, some groups in cities like Tehran and Mashhad of Iran have also protested against this deal with America.
