What Is Fitment Factor Of Pay Commission In Hindi: What is Fitment Factor?, Salary increases on this recommendation of Pay Commission.

New Delhi. About 48 lakh central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission. These days, the Pay Commission is holding different meetings across the country and taking opinions from employee organizations. Only time will tell what 8th Pay Commission Chairperson retired Justice Ranjana Desai recommends in her report, but there is a discussion among central employees and pensioners as to how much fitment factor is decided in the Pay Commission report. Actually, the increase in basic salary is decided on the basis of the product of this fitment factor and the existing basic salary.

Retired Justice Ranjana Desai is the chairperson of the 8th Pay Commission.

The 7th Pay Commission in its report had kept the fitment factor at 2.57. Due to which the minimum basic salary of central employees increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000. This time, central employees and pensioners hope that in the 8th Pay Commission report, the fitment factor can be fixed from 2.28 to 3.83. If we talk before the 7th Pay Commission, at that time no fitment factor was decided. Then, keeping in mind many issues including market inflation, the Pay Commission used to make recommendations. As a result, there was not much increase in salary at that time.

The current 8th Pay Commission was constituted on 3 November 2025. The Pay Commission has to submit its report in 18 months. It is believed that the Pay Commission will submit its report to the Central Government by May 2027. On which the Central Government will decide whether to implement the same recommendation or not. Pay commission is formed every 10 years for central employees and pensioners. The Pay Commission talks to the governments as well as the employees’ organizations. Because now after the implementation of the recommendations of the Central Pay Commission, the salaries of the state employees are also fixed in the same proportion in the states also. At present, central employees and pensioners may have to wait for the 8th Pay Commission report for about a year.
