Cocktail 2 Certificate: Kriti Sanon in an ‘A’ rated film for the first time in her 12-year career; ‘Cocktail 2’ in discussion

The film’s title, songs, new faces and youthful exuberance have fueled curiosity. The film has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

‘Cocktail 2’ has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the CBFC, which means the film is suitable for adults only. The movie is quite long, its total duration is 150 minutes, i.e. 2 hours 30 minutes. Advance booking started from 14th June midnight.

The film ‘Cocktail 2’ is special in different ways for all the three lead actors. As for Kriti, it is the first time in her 12-year career that she has been part of an adult-rated film. Rashmika has acted in one such film before. She appeared in the film Animal (2023), which received an ‘A’ certificate. Adult-rated movies are not new for Shahid. This will be his fifth film after ‘Kamine’ (2009), ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), ‘Kabir Singh’ (2019) and ‘O Romeo’ (2026).

The first installment of the ‘Cocktail’ franchise was released in 2012. It starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. Diana made her acting debut in this film. Like ‘Cocktail 2’, the original film was also directed by Homi Adjania. There is one important difference between the two films. Unlike the sequel, the first episode received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, meaning it was suitable for all audiences.
