Patna. Bihar government has taken a big decision for Mamta workers. In the current financial year, Rs 6.60 crore will be given as incentive to Mamta workers of the state. This amount has been arranged by the government and if needed, further payment can be arranged through additional grants.

Mamta workers are an important link in the rural health system. They play an important role in taking pregnant women to the hospital, providing safe delivery and taking care of the mother and child after delivery.

You get Rs 600 per delivery

In Bihar, Mamata workers are currently given Rs 600 as incentive on every delivery. This amount is given to encourage their work. Mamta workers are providing their services in the state’s Medical College Hospital, Sadar Hospital, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Referral Hospital, Primary Health Center and Community Health Centers.

About 25 thousand Mamta workers

About 25 thousand Mamta workers are associated with health services in Bihar. With their help, institutional delivery has been promoted and awareness regarding safe motherhood has also increased among women. Through this scheme, a large number of rural women have also got employment opportunities.

Incentive amount increased over time

Mamta Karyakarta Yojana was started in the year 2008. At that time an amount of Rs 100 was given per delivery. After this, this amount was increased to Rs 300 from the year 2016-17 to 2024-25. Later the health department increased the amount to Rs 600 per delivery in 2025. Due to this, Mamta workers have also got financial support.
