In Jharkhand, an elderly man was brutally murdered by slitting his throat, a blood soaked body found in the bushes.
Jharkhand: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Mahuda police station area of Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Here on Saturday afternoon, there was a stir in the entire area when the dead body of an elderly man with his throat slit was found among the bushes on the roadside. This case directly appears to be a heinous murder. After this sensational incident, there is a lot of anger among the local villagers and family members.
Dead body found after 3 hours
According to the information received, the deceased has been identified as 63-year-old Haleem Shaikh, resident of Bhurungiya Basti under Targa Panchayat. Haleem Shaikh used to work in a trunk shop located in Mahuda Bazaar. Family members told that at around 12 noon on Saturday, he had come out of his house as usual. Just three hours later, at around 3 pm, his dead body was seen by the local people in the bushes on the roadside on the way from DAV Public School, Mahuda to Kultand Basti.
Family members demanded strict action
As soon as information about the incident was received, Mahuda police station in-charge Pawan Chandra Pathak immediately reached the spot with the police force. The police took the body into their custody, completed the paperwork and sent it for post-mortem. As soon as the news of the murder spread like wildfire, dozens of angry people from Bhurungia Basti, the village of the deceased, reached Mahuda police station. The villagers tried to protest vigorously there and demanded immediate arrest of the killers. Seeing the atmosphere deteriorating, the police station in-charge pacified the villagers by giving them solid assurance of a fair and impartial investigation. Mohammad Sheikh, son-in-law of the deceased, has lodged a written complaint of murder against unknown criminals at Mahuda police station.
What will be the attitude of the police?
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Baghmara SDPO Ajit Kumar Vimal also reached Mahuda police station and did a detailed review of the incident and the case. SDPO said that the case completely looks like murder. The police team is examining the call details of the deceased’s mobile phone and is busy collecting other technical evidence. The real reasons will be revealed only after the post mortem report comes.

Haleem Shaikh has left behind a large family of three sons and two daughters, who are in poor condition. Meanwhile, on receiving information about the incident, former minister Jaleshwar Mahato also reached Mahuda police station. He met the victim’s family and consoled them and demanded the police administration to reveal this heinous murder as soon as possible and send the culprits behind the bars.
