Is the Iran-US peace deal already signed digitally? JD Vance’s big claim

New Delhi: An important progress has emerged in the long-running talks between America and Iran. US Vice President JD Vance has claimed that the proposed agreement between the two countries has received final approval digitally. This statement comes at a time when US President Donald Trump recently announced that the agreement is almost complete and it will be formally signed in Geneva, Switzerland on June 19.

What did Vance say?

During a conversation on an American TV program, Vance said that the agreement has already been approved electronically. However, he clarified that despite the agreement, Iran will get any kind of economic relief or relaxation in sanctions only if it fully adheres to the stipulated conditions.

According to Vance, America’s policy will be completely performance-based. He said that only if Iran takes steps like reducing its stockpile of enriched nuclear materials and implementing the international monitoring system, the sanctions imposed on it will be relaxed. He said that America wants to ensure that Iran does not move towards developing nuclear weapons.

He also said that the purpose of the agreement is not only to ease sanctions, but also to provide an opportunity for Iran to reintegrate with the global economy. Vance indicated that if Tehran follows all the terms of the agreement, new avenues of international trade and economic activity could open up for it.

On the other hand, Iran has also confirmed that the agreement is likely to be signed on June 19. However, Iranian officials have also indicated that the signing ceremony could be held virtually. At present it is not clear who will represent Iran in this process, but the names of Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Arghachi are being mentioned among the main contenders.

What did Donald Trump say?

President Donald Trump has also described this possible agreement as historic and said that it will promote stability and security in the Middle East region. He claimed that after the implementation of the agreement, energy supply and business activities in the region will also benefit. According to Trump, this agreement can prove to be an important step towards reducing the long-running tension and establishing peace in the region.

Now the eyes of the world are fixed on June 19, when the process of formalizing this agreement is expected to be completed.
