Bharti Airtel: Airtel’s dominance will increase in Africa, approval from shareholders for consolidation
Bharti Airtel Latest Update: 100 percent shareholders of the country’s leading telecom operator company Bharti Airtel have approved stake consolidation in Airtel Africa. Airtel will buy 16.31 per cent stake in Airtel Africa from its promoter group company Indian Continent Investment Limited (ICIL) through share-swap. In return, new shares of Airtel will be issued to the promoter company.
Under this transaction, Bharti Airtel will issue 14.68% crore of its new equity shares in exchange for 16.31% stake of Airtel Africa held by the promoter group company Indian Continent Investment Limited. New shares of Bharti Airtel will be issued at the rate of Rs 1923 per stock, which is higher than the floor price fixed by SEBI.
Airtel at 9.5% premium pricing

According to this Bharti Airtel The pricing that has been set for the share is at a 9.5 percent premium compared to the closing price on June 11. At the same time, the shares of Airtel Africa which have been acquired have been done at a discount of 11.6%.
What benefit does Airtel get from this approval?
At present, Bharti Airtel has received approval for special resolution from its shareholders. Now the company will need regulatory approval. Once all approvals are received and the deal is completed, Bharti Airtel’s effective stake in Airtel Africa will increase to approximately 49%.

Bharti Airtel Chairman said the agreement, upon completion and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, will increase Bharti Airtel’s effective stake in Airtel Africa to approximately 79%. This is a continuation of the Company’s balanced approach in progressively strengthening its ownership stake in Airtel Africa, a well-established strategic growth platform of the Group.
