Indian diplomacy seen in G-7 conference, PM Modi met leaders of Britain, UAE, Japan, Egypt and Kenya

Evian (France). On the sidelines of the G-7 summit held in Evian, France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met top leaders of many countries and discussed giving new momentum to bilateral relations. Sharing information about these meetings on the social media platform ‘X’, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to further strengthen cooperation with various countries.

In their meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, both the leaders expressed satisfaction over the strengthening of India-UK relations in the last one year. Prime Minister Modi said that the recent trade agreement has opened new opportunities for economic cooperation. In the meeting, discussions were held to enhance partnership in areas like innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), skill development, sports and investment.

In a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership. Prime Minister Modi also expressed his gratitude for the sensitivity and cooperation shown by the government towards the Indian community living in UAE.

In talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, it was agreed to deepen multi-dimensional cooperation between the two countries by giving priority to trade and investment. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to take economic and strategic relations to new heights.

During his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Prime Minister Modi described the long-standing friendly relations between India and Egypt as special. The two leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

Apart from this, in the meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto, the shared aspirations and development challenges of the Global South were discussed. Prime Minister Modi said that the partnership between India and Kenya is based on mutual trust and development cooperation and both the countries will continue to work together for the welfare of their citizens.

These meetings held during the G-7 summit are being considered an important sign of India’s active global diplomacy and increasing cooperation with major countries. India’s role in areas like trade, investment, technology, energy and strategic partnerships seems to be continuously strengthening.
