‘If Modi attacks India, America is on his side’, ‘friend’ Trump’s big promise, worrying China
If there is an attack on Narendra Modi’s India. Then America will stand by New Delhi. US President Donald Trump made a big promise to ‘friends’ at the G7 side meeting. According to some analysts, the US president sent a message to China through this comment. On the other hand, according to sources, Modi also raised the issue of Oman in the bilateral meeting. He told the US President to ensure that ships can move freely in the Strait of Hormuz and adjacent areas and that sailors are safe there. On this day, President Trump praised Prime Minister Modi, saying, “Modi is a very good man. A very good person. He is like an angel.”
This year’s G7 conference has been held in France since June 15. Will continue till June 17. Although India is not a permanent member of the G7, it regularly participates in the summit as a special invitee. Modi was invited by French President Emmanuel Macron to attend the G7 summit this year. Modi-Trump was supposed to have a separate meeting in this conference. The much-awaited meeting took place on Wednesday evening Indian time. There, Trump showered the Prime Minister with praise. At the same time, he gave an assurance. Said, “India-US relations are excellent. There is no room for getting closer.” After that, the US President said, “If the leader of India is Modi, and if the country is attacked under his leadership, then America will extend a hand of help. There is no mutual defense agreement between the two countries. But despite this, America will not hesitate to help. But if there is someone other than Modi in the leadership, then I can’t say anything for sure right now.” He also termed this meeting with the Prime Minister as ‘productive’.
On the other hand, Modi was full of praise for Trump’s recent progress in peace in the Middle East. He also expressed hope that lasting peace will be established in the region. At the same time, Modi has raised the importance of Hormuz to keep the wheels of the global economy moving. He said, “For the economy, Hormuz should be opened immediately. It should be ensured that ships can move freely in that waterway. At the same time, the safety of sailors should be ensured.” Modi said, “Millions of Indian seafarers are plying their duty in various parts of the world, including Hormuz, for maritime trade. They are making a significant contribution to the progress of the world economy. So their safety is very important to us.”
Trump and Modi last met at the White House in February 2025. Then several important chapters like Operation Sindur, US tariffs, Iran war, siege of Hormuz have passed. During ‘Sindoor’, Trump repeatedly took credit for the cessation of hostilities with Pakistan, which escalated the tension between the two countries. After that, India-America got into a dispute over the US ‘tariff’. Recently, the two countries have engaged in a ‘conflict’ over the death of three Indian sailors in the US attack in Oman. In this situation, the Modi-Trump meeting after 16 months is quite significant. Meanwhile, according to a group of analysts, Trump’s sudden expansion before and after the meeting is actually nothing more than ‘dressing the wound’.
