Congressmen held meeting to protect the rights of tribals, expressed opposition to Adani project

On Tuesday, the Congress Party delegation held a meeting with the villagers in Gram Sabha Brahmamori of Kon development block regarding the issue of rights of tribals and their displacement. In the meeting, the villagers alleged that due to the proposed project of Adani Company, tribal families are facing the threat of homelessness, due to which there is widespread anger in the area.

During the meeting, Congress leaders listened to the problems of the villagers and assured them that the party will fight at every level to protect their land, forests and rights. The leaders said that it is not appropriate to forcibly implement any project without the consent of the tribals. If the rights of the villagers are violated then the Congress Party will agitate democratically.

The delegation was led by Congress District President Ramraj Singh Gond. Senior Congressman Babbu Tiwari, former City Congress President Rajeev Tripathi, State Vice President of OBC Congress Setram Keshari, District Acting President of OBC Congress Dinesh Kumar Yadav, District Vice President of Youth Congress Mridul Mishra, Block President Madan Gupta and other officials were present with him.

A large number of tribal villagers participated in the meeting and put forward their problems and apprehensions before the Congress leaders. Congress leaders said that protecting the constitutional rights of tribals is their priority and they will not be allowed to become victims of injustice at any cost. At the end of the meeting the delegation assured all possible cooperation to the villagers.
