Mysterious object seen on the seashore

There was an atmosphere of panic at Sutrapada beach in Gir Somnath district when the local people saw an unknown object lying on the shore. ‘Danger – Do Not Touch’ was written in English on the object, seeing which people became worried. What was found in the initial investigation

During the preliminary investigation, officials suspected that the object could be a ‘marine smoke signal device’ used in sea vessels. Such devices are commonly used to signal during emergency situations at sea, to call for assistance or to provide location in rescue operations.

According to experts, safety warnings are written on these types of devices, so that no one touches or activates them without knowledge. However, its final confirmation has not been made yet and technical investigation is ongoing.

The administration took full caution

Although initial investigation has not confirmed any explosive material, the administration does not want to take any risk. The police have kept the object under safe custody and a detailed investigation is being conducted with the help of experts.

Officials say that until the investigation is completed, it would not be appropriate to reach any conclusion about the object. Security agencies are also trying to find out through which ship or sea route this object reached the coast.

Increased surveillance on beaches

After this incident, vigilance has been increased in coastal areas. The local administration has appealed to the people that if any suspicious or unknown object is seen on the beach, then do not try to touch it and immediately inform the police or concerned authorities.

Experts say that due to sea currents, sometimes ships or equipment used in marine activities get washed away and reach the shores. However, from the safety point of view, checking of every such item is necessary. At present, investigation is going on to find out the identity and source of this object found in Gir Somnath.
