Jahangir Khan’s wife arrested, compensation for loss necessary: ​​Panda!

Police on Saturday arrested Regina Bibi, wife of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Jahangir Khan. He is accused of being the main conspirator of the attempted attack on Falta police station. On the arrest of Regina Bibi, BJP MLA Debangshu Panda said that she forgot that now there is a BJP government, not TMC, and the government works under the policy of zero tolerance.

He said that Jahangir Khan’s wife will have to compensate for the damage done to the police station and its surroundings. Speaking to IANS, the BJP MLA said that Jahangir’s wife and some women from the minority community went to the police station to free Jahangir and created a ruckus there. A case has been registered against him under several sections.

Debangshu Panda said that hooliganism cannot be tolerated in Falta like before. Hooliganism has to be stopped otherwise BJP government is there to stop it.

After the arrest of Regina Bibi, a case has been registered against her under various sections of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023, Arms Act 1959, and Explosives Act, 1884. The police will present him in the district court of South 24 Parganas.

State police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel arrested Regina Bibi from a hideout near the India-Nepal border in connection with the attack on Falta police station by TMC workers and an attempt to rescue Jahangir Khan, a state police official said. With the arrest of Regina Bibi, now a total of 26 people have been arrested in this case.

On Friday, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had said that he has directed the administration to identify the properties of those involved in the attack on the police station, seize them, auction them and use the money received from the auction to compensate for the damage caused to public property.
