In this match being played in Chennai, after winning the toss and coming to bat first, Prasidh Krishna sent the top-3 of the Afghan team to the pavilion, in which Rohit also had an important contribution. He took 3 consecutive catches in the slip. With this Rohit achieved a big achievement. Rohit became the fourth Indian fielder to contribute to the first 3 wickets of a team to fall. He made it to the club of Sourav Ganguly, Manoj Tiwari and Suresh Raina.

This record was made by the jugalbandi of Rohit and Prasidh

Another big record has been made due to the Jugalbandi of Rohit and Prasidh in Chennai. Rohit equaled the Indian record of VVS Laxman and Shikhar Dhawan in taking 3 catches off the same bowler in an ODI innings. Laxman took 3 catches off Irfan Pathan’s balls against Zimbabwe in 2004. Dhawan had achieved this feat on the balls of Jasprit Bumrah against Bangladesh in 2018.
