Cunha’s double blast, Vinicius’ goal: Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0, Haiti became the first team to be eliminated from the World Cup.

Philadelphia: Five-time champion Brazil has regained its rhythm in the World Cup football tournament. Brazil has strengthened its claim for the next round (knockout) by defeating Haiti 3-0 in a one-sided match played on Friday night. With this defeat, Haiti, playing the World Cup for the first time since 1974, has become the first team in the world to be eliminated from the ongoing tournament.

Mathias Cunha proved his mettle

Manchester United’s star forward Mathias Cunha got a chance in the starting lineup (Starting 11) in this match and he fully capitalized on it. In the first match, which was a 1-1 draw against Morocco, Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti surprised everyone by keeping Cunha on the bench, but this time Cunha made the coach realize his mistake by scoring two brilliant goals.

– First goal (23rd minute): Cunha scored the first World Cup goal of his career in front of 68,324 spectators at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

– Second goal (36th minute): Cunha made the team’s lead 2-0 by hitting a very powerful shot with his left foot.

– Third goal (injury time): In the last moments of the first half (Injury Time), Vinicius Junior showed excellent play and scored the third goal. Cunha had assisted in this goal also.

Amazing enthusiasm was seen among the fans

Brazilian supporters dominated the field during the match. Although a goal by forward Raphinha was declared offside in the opening minutes and he was later ruled out with an injury, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the fans.

Haitian fans also made their presence felt by singing the traditional battle cry ‘Grenadié Alsou’ (Grenadiers on the attack) to cheer on their team. In response, Brazilian fans wearing yellow jerseys chanted “A thousand goals… only Pele has scored” in memory of the magical king of football Pele.
