Chittagong (Bangladesh). Australia defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the third and final T20 match and won the three-match series 3-0. Earlier, Bangladesh had won the ODI series 2-1, but the Australian team completely dominated in the T20 format.
In the match played in Chittagong on Sunday, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first, but its innings was limited to 109 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Australia easily achieved the target by scoring 112 runs losing 3 wickets in just 11 overs.
Chasing the small target of 110 runs, Australia got off to a fast start. Captain Mitchell Marsh batted stormily and scored 60 runs in just 28 balls. His innings included 7 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from Marsh, Josh Inglis contributed 17 runs and Cooper Connolly contributed 15 runs.
Tim David returned unbeaten after scoring 12 runs and Matt Renshaw after scoring 6 runs. Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hussain took one wicket each for Bangladesh.
Earlier, the innings of Bangladesh team which came to bat had completely faltered. Captain Tauhid Hriday struggled alone and scored 61 runs in 51 balls, which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, Rishad Hussain played an inning of 16 runs. Apart from these two, no batsman could even reach double digits.
For Australia, Spencer Johnson, Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa took 2 wickets each, while Nikhil Chaudhary got one wicket.
In the match, Mitchell Marsh was adjudged Player of the Match for his explosive innings, while Matt Renshaw, who performed brilliantly throughout the series, received the Player of the Series award.
