Delhi Health Minister calls for making yoga a part of lifestyle

New Delhi . On International Yoga Day, Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh participated in the mass yoga program organized at Chhath Ghat in Vikaspuri. Citizens from various sections of the society including youth, women and senior citizens enthusiastically participated in the occasion and pledged to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle through regular yoga practice.

Addressing the program, Pankaj Kumar Singh congratulated everyone on the 12th International Yoga Day and highlighted the important role of India in giving recognition to Yoga at the global level.

The Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga has received unprecedented international recognition and recognition. Today, Yoga has become a global mass movement promoting health, well-being and harmony.

Pankaj Kumar Singh further said that it is a matter of pride for every Indian citizen that the United Nations accepted India’s proposal and decided to celebrate June 21 globally as International Yoga Day. This has made Yoga today a symbol of health care and holistic lifestyle across the world. He said that Yoga is one of India’s most invaluable gifts to humanity. It transcends age, geographical boundaries and cultures and provides people with the simplest and most effective path to physical health, mental peace and spiritual progress. Today the whole world is adopting yoga to live a healthy and better life.

He urged all the citizens to make yoga a part of their daily routine and also inspire their family members for it. He further said that building a healthy society is possible only when every citizen is conscious and committed towards his physical and mental health.

The Health Minister reiterated the commitment of the Delhi Government to promote Yoga as an important part of better health care. He informed that the Health Department is rapidly working towards adopting Yoga in various public health programs including mental health and lifestyle management. Yoga is also being given special importance in the daily health care of Ayushman Arogya temples.

Emphasizing the role of youth, the Health Minister said that yoga should be made a part of life right from childhood. He said that schools play an important role in developing healthy habits among children, so that they can become physically healthy, mentally strong and socially responsible citizens.

The special event concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to practice yoga regularly and spread awareness about the benefits of yoga among their families and communities.
