HT pole at Laukwakhadi under sub-station Kachnarwa of Pipri division, during the digging of a canal by Kanhar Irrigation Project in Laukkahadi, the pole was washed away due to which the power supply of Bagesoti feeder was disrupted. Luckily, there was no loss of life. Local people allege that if the work is carried out carelessly by the concerned department, an untoward incident can happen at any time. Local people have demanded from the District Magistrate that keeping in mind the safety and public interest of the people, the work should be done by the Canal Division so that no problem arises.
In this regard, Junior Engineer AP Gupta said that earlier also many poles had been demolished by the Canal Division and today again during the digging of the canal the HT pole was destroyed. Due to which the power supply of Bagesoti feeder was disrupted. However, every possible effort is being made to restore the power supply. In this regard, Executive Engineer of Kanhar Irrigation Project Bir Bahadur Singh said that money has been given to the Electricity Department for removing the pole and at present instructions have been given to the concerned JE to get the work done. Local people have drawn the attention of the concerned department and demanded immediate electricity supply.
