Women’s T20 World Cup: India won the toss and decided to bat!

The teams of India and South Africa are facing each other in the Group 1 match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has won the toss and decided to bat. Harmanpreet Kaur said, “We are going to bat first. I think it is a good pitch.
If we bat first and score well, it will help us win the match. I will have to spend some time on the field. Shreyanka is not there due to injury, Prema is making her debut. Kranti Gaur is out, Arundhati is playing.”

Harman is playing her 200th international T20 match. On this she said, “The journey till now has been amazing. I never thought that I would come this far. God is kind, I am thankful to him. Thanks to friends, family, and BCCI. I am more nervous playing my 200th match.”

South Africa captain Wolvaardt said, “We would have batted had we won the toss. It’s a big match and we would have liked to score big. It felt good to win against this team recently. They have been better than us in the World Cup. There are two changes in the team.”
