Israel-Hezbollah agreed to a cease-fire, will the US-Iran peace agreement be final?
The wind of peace is stronger in the Middle East. The preliminary MoU between Iran and America was signed recently to end the war. This time, Israel and Lebanon also walked the path of ceasefire. It is known that the two sides agreed to stop the war from Friday. However, the Israeli army attacked several addresses in southern Lebanon on Friday morning. At least 16 people died. A few hours later, news of a ceasefire between the two sides was reported.
Citing a US official, the news agency Reuters said that the ceasefire will begin at 4 pm local time on Friday. However, no details are known about how long this ceasefire will last. The US official said the ceasefire was brokered by the US and Qatar, with the help of Iran. He said that on Friday morning there was a gunfight between the two sides. But then Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire.
Incidentally, the MoU was signed a few days ago to restore peace between Iran and America. The peace agreement is expected to be finalized within the next 60 days. But one of the main conditions of that agreement was the complete cessation of military activity from all areas of the Middle East. An Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire is also essential to this peace deal. According to the sources, after the MoU was signed, Hezbollah was contacted by Iran. Tehran informed that it is not possible to continue the peace talks with America if the conflict with Israel is not stopped.
Iran and the US were scheduled to meet in Switzerland on Friday to discuss a peace deal. But US Vice President JD Vance said, this meeting is cancelled. The move is believed to be due to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. JD Vance said he is not going to Switzerland for now. However, talks with Iran will continue. The two countries will discuss soon after fixing the date. As a result of the cease-fire on this day, the possibility of finalization of the US-Iran peace agreement has increased a lot.
