Qatar’s Ministry of Interior informed that the explosion occurred inside the factory. Officials say that this accident happened due to some technical malfunction while starting the operations. Immediately after the blast, Civil Defense teams were sent to the spot to help the injured and secure the area.

State-owned company QatarEnergy confirmed that the accident occurred at the Barzan local gas supply facility. The company said that the fire that broke out after the blast has now been brought under control. Officials also clarified that there has been no leakage of any poisonous gas or hazardous material, hence there is no danger to the general public.

Qatari International Search and Rescue Group and Civil Defense teams are working together to search for the missing people. Let us tell you that ExxonMobil also has some stake in this Barzan plant.
