According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy torrential rains are expected in many states of the country from June 21 to June 27, 2026. During this period, not only will there be rain from the sky, but there is also a possibility of severe thunderstorm and lightning in many areas. Condition of Delhi-NCR and plain areas of North India
Monsoon activity has become clearly visible in the hilly and plain states of North India. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of good rain in many areas of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh during June 21 and 22. Along with this, sporadic rains will continue on the hilly roads of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from June 21 to 27.
If we talk about the plains, then during June 21 to 24, there will be strong winds along with thunderstorms and rain in the country’s capital Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. Talking about Uttar Pradesh, there is a possibility of rain in Western UP on June 21 and then on June 26 to 27, while in Eastern Uttar Pradesh there are chances of heavy rain during June 21-22 and June 25 to 27.
Dust storm will blow at a speed of 80 km in Rajasthan

Warning of lightning and strong winds in Central India
The states of Central India will also see harsh weather conditions from June 21 to 27. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning for a week continuously in many areas of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be strong winds at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Western Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha from June 21 to 25 and in Chhattisgarh from June 22 to 25 along with strong lightning in the sky.
Storm will hit Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha with a speed of 70 km.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain for the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Torrential rains are expected at many places in these states from June 21 to 27. Odisha may receive heavy rains from June 21 to 23, Bihar during June 21-22 and again from June 25 to 27. Apart from this, heavy rainfall is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from June 21 to 25 followed by extremely heavy rainfall on June 26-27. The Meteorological Department has issued a strict warning of dangerous thunderstorms with a speed of 70 kilometers per hour in Jharkhand-Orissa on June 21-22 and in Bihar on June 22.
Torrential rain wreaks havoc in Northeast India
Monsoon is in full swing in the states of North East India. There is a possibility of continuous heavy rain in many areas in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from June 21 to 27. There is an alert of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh on June 21 and 25, in Assam-Meghalaya on June 21-22 and June 26-27. At the same time, heavy rains may occur in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during June 21 to 24. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange/red alert of ‘extremely heavy rainfall’ in Arunachal Pradesh from June 22 to 24 and in Assam-Meghalaya from June 23 to 25.
Warning of extremely heavy rain in western and south India
Talking about the states of Western India, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch will see monsoon rains from June 21 to 27. Many areas of Konkan and Goa may receive heavy rains between June 23 and 27. Along with this, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Konkan-Goa between June 22 and 27 and parts of Central Maharashtra on June 23.
The fiercest form of monsoon can be seen in South India also. There is a possibility of record breaking rainfall in many areas in Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep from June 21 to 27. Kerala and Mahe will receive heavy rains from June 21 to 23 and June 25 to 27. Heavy rain is expected in coastal Karnataka from June 21 to 24 and in Telangana from June 22 to 27. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema may receive heavy rains between June 21-22 and June 25-26. The biggest warning is for Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana on June 21, where an alert of destructive winds with speed up to 70 kilometers per hour and cyclonic storm has been issued.
