Suvendu Govt Presents First West Bengal Budget: Swapan Dasgupta, Finance Minister of the new BJP government of West Bengal, has successfully presented his historic budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Assembly. With the big goal of developed India and developed Bengal, in this first important budget, the government has given many big and wonderful reliefs to the people.

The state government has made many big and very important announcements in this budget for the youth, women and all government employees of the state. These big decisions will go a long way in the all-round development of the state and in rapidly improving the economic condition of the general public.

The budget promises full continuation of all major and old social schemes and filling of one lakh government vacancies soon. The government has also made a big and important announcement of a new and important Bharosa scheme which will provide Rs 3000 every month to unemployed youth.

Apart from this, in these one lakh new government recruitments, special and big reservation of 33 percent will also be given to women with prominence. All these big and historic decisions of the government will directly benefit lakhs of youth and women of the state.

DA increased by 20 percent

Making a big announcement for all the state government employees, the Finance Minister has announced a spectacular increase of 20 percent in dearness allowance. After this huge increase, the total DA of the employees will now increase to 38 percent which will be fully implemented in the state from October 2026. Apart from this, there has also been a big increase of Rs 2000 in the honorarium of Civic Police and Green Police, who are deployed every day for the security of the state.

Important gifts of education and pension

In this important budget of the new government, a big announcement has also been made to provide huge financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand to all the college girl students. Along with this, there has been a big increase of Rs 500 in the amount of widow pension already being run for poor and destitute women. Retired journalists will also get a special pension of Rs 5,000 and those who were innocently jailed for political reasons will get Rs 10,000 per month.

Plan for new airport and development work

The government has made an important announcement to build another new greenfield airport in Kalyani, the state capital Kolkata, for which land is being searched. New and modern airports will also be built in Purulia, Balurghat and Malda while the state’s Cooch Behar airport will be completely strengthened. A major decision has also been taken to give 25 acres of land to Hasimara Air Force Station and 37 acres of land to Kalaikunda Air Force Station for strategic facilities.

Holiday on the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee

Now liquor vends will be opened at a distance of at least 1 kilometer from any temple, school-college and hospitals, which is a very big decision. Along with this, every year on the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, July 6 will be declared a complete state holiday in the entire state. A huge fund of Rs 200 crore has also been allocated in the budget to celebrate his 150th birth anniversary in a grand and grand manner.

MLA fund increased and age limit for government jobs increased

With a view to accelerate local development, the MLA fund given to the MLAs of the state has been significantly increased from Rs 70 lakh. Now all the MLAs will be given a huge amount of Rs 1 crore directly for development works which will greatly strengthen the infrastructure. Apart from this, a big relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit for all government jobs in the state will also be given to the youth for the next two years.
