Eight women fall ill after cesarean in Jodhpur, OT closed!

Eight women have fallen ill after cesarean delivery in a government hospital in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. Orders have been given to investigate the matter. The operation theater has been closed until the investigation is completed.

Medical College Principal Dr. Fateh Singh said that after the operation, the condition of two of the eight pregnant women became critical and they were immediately admitted to the ICU of MDM Hospital. Of these, one patient had high blood pressure and the other had the problem of excessive bleeding during the operation. The condition of both the patients is said to be stable at present and their treatment is going on under the supervision of senior doctors.

He said that as soon as information about the incident was received, a team of doctors, microbiologists and experts collected samples of all the patients and sent them to laboratories for testing. The drug inspectors have also taken samples of the medicines and other materials used. The real reason will become clear only after the investigation report comes.

Dr. Fateh Singh said that the possibility of bacteria increase in the current season has also been kept under investigation, but it is too early to reach any conclusion. He clarified that the doctors and hospital administration do not want any kind of negligence and all the prescribed standards and procedures are followed.

While talking to journalists, PMO of Pavata Hospital, Dr. Kulveer Singh Chopra said that eight C-section operations were performed on Saturday, out of which the health of two women has deteriorated. We have referred both the sick women to Mathuradas Mathur (MDM) Hospital.

The problem of infection is very high in those women. The remaining six patients are admitted in this hospital. The doctor said that the condition of six pregnant women admitted here is better.

Dr. Kulveer Singh further said that we are following the guidelines. It is a matter of investigation how this happened? Blood samples have been taken for testing. Only after the report comes will it be known how this happened?
