Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition Launched: A Tribute to a 2006 Legend, At A Very 2026 Price
The Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition is priced at Rs 3.99 lakh, ex-showroom. That is Rs 2,000 more than the standard Tuono 457, which starts at Rs 3.97 lakh. The Special Edition pays tribute to the Aprilia Tuono 1000R from 2006, one of the brand’s most celebrated naked motorcycles from that era. The tribute is expressed through a specific colour and graphics scheme, not through any mechanical changes.
The engine, chassis, electronics, and cycle parts are identical to the standard Tuono 457. The 457cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine produces 47.6 bhp and 43.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. The engine runs a 270 degree crank, which gives it a distinct exhaust note and plenty of low end torque.
Suspension is a 43mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, both adjustable. Braking is a radially mounted 4-piston Brembo calliper on the front with dual-channel ABS. The TFT instrument display with Bluetooth, ride modes, traction control, and cornering ABS all carry over from the standard model.

Visually, the Special Edition adopts a colour palette referencing the 2006 Tuono 1000R, with a dark base and contrasting graphics drawn from the original bike’s livery. Aprilia has added a longer seat compared to the standard Tuono 457, which is a practical ergonomic change rather than just a cosmetic one.
The seat change improves reach for taller riders and makes longer riding more comfortable. A flyscreen is included, which reduces wind pressure on the chest at highway speeds without compromising the naked bike character. These two changes, the seat and the flyscreen, are the functional differences from the standard variant.
At this price, the Tuono 457 Special Edition competes with the KTM 390 Duke at approximately Rs 3.11 lakh. The Tuono 457’s 457cc engine gives it a displacement and power advantage over the 390 Duke.
The Tuono 457 was launched in 2024 as the naked streetfighter version of the RS 457 sportsbike, sharing its engine and most of its mechanicals but offering more upright ergonomics and a more accessible riding position. The platform has been well received for its refinement, power delivery, and the quality of its Brembo and Marzocchi sourced components, which are not standard on most motorcycles at this price.
The Special Edition’s Rs 2,000 premium over the standard model for a heritage livery, a longer seat, and a flyscreen is one of the better-value special edition propositions in the segment. Buyers who prefer the standard ergonomics or the standard colour options still have those available alongside the Special Edition. Those who want a faired version of the Tuono, with better wind protection and a more aggressive riding position, can opt for the RS 457.
