During this, he narrated an incident related to Shahrukh Khan, which has started being discussed on social media. Pankaj Kapoor told that there was a time when 10 year old Shahrukh Khan used to supply samosas to theater artists.

Actor became emotional

Pankaj Kapoor, during a conversation on a YouTube channel, told that a party was organized on the completion of 50 years of graduation from the National School of Drama (NSD). On this occasion, he had also invited old friends to his house. During this meeting, all the friends shared many interesting stories related to their student life. During this conversation, many things were discussed about the golden era of theatre. Pankaj Kapoor became emotional especially while remembering the days spent with famous theater director Ibrahim Alkazi.

Hungry artists had found a unique way

Shahid Kapoor’s father i.e. Pankaj Kapoor narrated an interesting anecdote from the play ‘Razia Sultan’. He told that being a first year student, he was made a part of the crowd. Whereas some of his colleagues used to get the role of soldier. During the scene, Naan was thrown by the soldiers. Artists used to catch them. After this, during the interval, everyone used to buy samosas together and sit backstage and enjoy naan, samosas and tea. He further said that this trend could not continue for long. One day director Ibrahim Alkazi saw this mischief of the artists and scolded everyone severely.

Shahrukh Khan used to supply samosas

Next, Pankaj Kapoor narrated his most interesting story from NSD. He recalled that in those days, the job of delivering samosas was done by none other than Shahrukh Khan. He told that Shahrukh Khan was around 10 years old at that time. His father used to run a canteen in the theater premises. When artists used to order samosas, Shahrukh used to deliver them to the backstage. However, at that time no one had thought that this child would later become the biggest superstar of Bollywood.

Plays used to take place in the old fort

Pankaj Kapoor told that at that time Ibrahim Alkazi was the director of many big plays simultaneously. These included famous plays like ‘Razia Sultan’, ‘Tughlaq’ and ‘Andha Yug’. These plays were staged in the historical backdrop of the Old Fort of Delhi. The experience of these performances taking place on huge walls and in an open environment was special for both the artists and the audience.
