Driving wearing AI Smart Glasses may prove costly, preparation for ban in this state

Smart Glasses Ban While Driving: Along with smartphones, the next big innovation in the world of technology has become AI Smart Glasses. At the same time, big companies like Google, Samsung and Apple are working rapidly on this technology. For your information, let us tell you that with the advent of Artificial Intelligence in these smart glasses, users have started getting many facilities like navigation, notifications and real-time information right in front of their eyes. In such a situation, many people are considering it as the future, while on the other hand, security concerns regarding it have also increased a lot.

In such a situation, preparations have been started to ban the use of AI Smart Glasses by drivers in the US state of Illinois. In such a situation, if this law is implemented, then Illinois will become the first state in America to take such a step which will ban AI Smart Glasses while driving in its state.

The law will be made as soon as the Governor’s approval is received.

Reports are that a bill to ban AI-powered smartglasses while driving in Illinois has been passed by the Assembly. After which now we are just waiting for the Governor’s approval. In such a situation, after the implementation of the law, drivers will not be able to use any type of smart glasses while driving. All smart glasses with display and equipped with AI features are being included in it. A fine ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 15,000 can also be imposed on those who break this rule.

Criminal action may be taken in case of an accident

In the proposal presented, the law has not been limited to just fines. It is being told that if someone becomes a victim of a road accident due to the use of smart glasses and someone gets injured or dies, then a criminal case can also be registered against the person concerned. This is also one of the reasons why the law is trying to strike a balance between technology and road safety.

Why is concern about smart glasses increasing?

Looking at this matter, experts say that continuous display of digital information in front of the eyes during driving can become a major cause of distraction. Let us tell you that smart glasses show navigation, messages, social media notifications and other information in the user’s field of vision. In such a situation, if any notification suddenly appears while driving, the driver’s focus can be diverted from the road and this is the reason why the use of smart glasses has already been banned in many courtrooms, examination centers and public places.

In such a situation, this step of Illinois will become an example for other states and countries in the coming times, where efforts will be made to find the right balance between technology and security.
