Cyber thugs hacked the WhatsApp account of a member of UP State Women’s Commission and defrauded Rs 1.47 lakh.
Meerut. By hacking the WhatsApp account of Dr. Himani Agarwal, Member, UP State Women’s Commission, cyber fraudsters defrauded people of Rs 1.47 lakh in her name. The hackers sent messages to Dr. Aggarwal’s name and got the money transferred to their account.

Dr. Himani has sent a letter to SP Crime and filed a report demanding action. Dr. Himani Aggarwal told that at around 12.30 pm on Monday, her WhatsApp number was hacked by cyber fraudsters. Using his profile and identity, cyber criminals (Cyber fraudsters) sent messages to his acquaintances and acquaintances asking them to transfer money to the given account.
Three people known to him transferred Rs 45 thousand, 50 thousand and 52 thousand. Meanwhile, an acquaintance called him and informed him about asking for money on WhatsApp. He immediately alerted his acquaintances and made the message viral on social media. Gave information to SSP Avinash Pandey and SP Crime Avnish Kumar.
He immediately ordered Cyber Cell to take action and got the WhatsApp account closed. SP Crime Avnish Kumar said that investigation is being done. Technical information about the concerned numbers is being collected.
Rs 54820 lost in cyber fraud returned
On the other hand, in another case, Harish Chhabra, resident of Lal Kurti area, was cheated of Rs 54,820 by cyber thugs on April 18. He had lodged a report at Lalkurti police station. After investigation, Lalkurti Police Station Cyber Crime Team seized the accounts in which the money was transferred. On Monday, Rs 54,820 was returned to Harish Chhawda. The Cyber Help Desk of the Medical Police Station also seized Rs 23,600 transferred by cyber fraudsters from the account of Ritu, wife of Yash Pawar, resident of Jagriti Vihar.
